The Move, Copy, Alias, Add, and Add Contents toolbar items perform actions which involve a folder. These toolbar items have menus attached which contain favorite folders you've added for quick access. The following description of the Copy toolbar item and its menu applies to all such menus whose items are files or folders. The format of the menu is:
Choosing a folder
Copying a file requires a destination folder, and there are three ways to specify one:
- To use a folder which is in the menu, choose it from the menu.
- To use a folder without adding it to the menu, click the toolbar item and select the desired folder from the folder selection dialog.
- To use a folder and have File Buddy add it to the menu for convenient access later, choose the command from the toolbar item’s menu and select the desired folder from the folder selection dialog.
Removing items
Any destination can be removed by choosing it while pressing the Command (⌘) key.
Be sure to wait until after the menu has opened to press the Command key. If you press the Command key before clicking the toolbar item, the system will see it as a Command-click, which is used to drag a toolbar item to a new location or off the toolbar, and the menu will not open.
Default items
Each of these menus is initially populated with one or more default items based on the function of the toolbar item which owns it. These items can be removed just like any items you add to the menu.
Resetting the menu
The command removes any items you've added to the menu and restores the default items.
